Modesto Escobedo Jr., 84, of Brownsville entered into the glory of his eternal life on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at Sunshine Haven Hospice Care Facility. A devoted and loving son and brother, Modesto took care of his parents and his sister, Dora, until the Lord called them home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Modesto and Juanita Escobedo, and four sisters, Ma. Magdalena Garza, Sara E. Arreola, Juanita E. Garza and Dora Elvia E. Cruz. He was a loyal and faithful member of Templo Emmanuel Assembleas de Dios. Left to mourn his passing and eternally treasure his memory are his two brothers, Rev. Daniel Escobedo from Austin, Texas, and Rev. Ruben Escobedo, from Brownsville, Texas; three sisters, Beatriz E. Vega from Austin, Texas, Elizabeth Barroso from Mar-shall, Mich., and Lydia Escobedo from Houston, Texas; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at 3 p.m. and continue through 9 p.m. with a prayer service scheduled for 7 p.m. in the evening at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, with a 10 a.m. chapel service at Darling-Mouser. Internment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. NARCISA RUBIO PEÑA Narcisa Rubio Peña, 80 years old, of Brownsville, Texas, entered into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at Valley Baptist Hospital, surrounded in the loving embrace of her family. She is survived by her children, Lucila Pacheco, Ramon Peña, Francisco Peña, Paula Ramirez, Maria Ayala, Martin Peña, Nancy Garcia, Maria G. Nelson, Juan A. Peña, Gricelda Ramos, Perla Almaraz, Blanca Peña, Reynaldo Peña and Maricelda Peña; 33 grand-children and 47 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Peña; her parents, Bernarda R. Correa Jr. went into eternal rest on Aug. 11, 2006, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on April 17, 1935, in Brownsville, Texas. He lived in Sweeny, Texas. Mr. Correa was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Correa; and his mother, Amalia Gonzalez; brother Jose Alberto Correa; and granddaughter Amber L. Correa. Mr. Correa is survived by his brother, Carlos Correa; sister Rosario Correa; wife Elvia G.
