[b]CARLOS DEL BOSQUE Carlos del Bosque, 87, entered into eternal rest to be with the Lord on Monday, July 31, 2006, at his home in Brownsville, Texas. He was born in Puebla, Mexico on April 19, 1919. His first wife, Sara Elena Marquez del Bosque and two sons, Lorenzo Ismael del Bosque and Carlos Mario del Bosque, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Cristina Candanoza del Bosque and his children: Martha Stekoll and husband, Mel, of Lockhart, Texas; Lilia Herrera, and husband, Faustino, of Harlingen, Texas; Jesus Antonio del Bosque of Harlingen, Texas; Sara Kouba and husband, Bob, of Newnan, Ga.; two daughters-in-law: Juanita del Bosque and Maria Luisa del Bosque; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and his step-children: Eloy Candanoza, Jesus Candanoza and Doris Martinez, and their families; two sisters and one brother; as well as a large extended family and many friends. Visitation will be held after 10 a.m., today, Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006 with a 7 p.m. prayer service to be held at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home with cremation to follow. "Griff" Griffin, was born to Harry C. and Marcelene Wiley Griffin on Oct. 27, 1923. He was one of two children. Griff graduated from Connersville High School in 1941. He enjoyed music and played the alto saxophone and clarinet for the Club Savil Orchestra, during his high school years, and after that until he enlisted in the United States Navy. Griff was a Motor Machinist Mate First Class and served on the U.S.S. Fuller during World War II. During his tour of duty in the South Pacific, he landed in Bougainville and Okinawa with the U.S. Marine invasion forces. He was discharged from the Navy in 1946, and was married to Imogene Fallon, of Connersville, on June 11, 1947. After attending the University of Illinois, Griff was employed in the engineering department of American Kitchens and after moving to Ford, retired with 30 years of service in the supply department. After retirement, Imogene and Griff traveled extensively throughout the United States. They ultimately settled into a routine of wintering in South Texas and spending their summers in Michigan. Griff was a member of Warren Lodge #15, F. & A.M., where he received his Award of Gold in July 1998. He was also a member of Elks Lodge #1307 of Rushville, and the American Legion Post #1 of Connersville. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Imogene. He is survived by his wife, Candida Schommer; his sister, Marcia (Gene) Wright of Connersville; two nephews, one niece and a cousin. MARIA GUADALUPE GALVAN Maria Guadalupe Galvan, 77, went to eternal rest Monday, July 31, 2006, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. She is preceded in death by her father Cipriano Naranjo; mother, Catarina Cavasos; brother, Gilberto Naranjo; and son, Jose Angel Galvan. Mrs. Galvan is survived by her husband, Angel Galvan; daughters: Angelita Benavidez, Maria Anita Reyna (Ruben) from Houston, Susana Benavidez (Raul), Elizabeth Galvan from Brownsville; sons: Ismael Galvan from Georgia, Rafael Galvan from Houston, Armando Galvan, and Ricardo Galvan from Brownsville; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
