    3. The Brownsville Herald - Online Edition Obituaries, August 17, 2006 LIDIA O. DEL CASTILLO Lidia O. Del Castillo, 93, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at Sunshine Haven in Olmito, Texas. She was a native of San Luis Potosi, SLP, Mexico and had been a Brownsville resident most of her life. Her husband, Oscar J. Del Castillo; a brother, Margarito Orta, and a sister, Catalina O. Hernandez, preceded her in death. She is survived by one daughter, Lidia R. Castañeda and son in law, Armando C. Castañeda; two grandchildren, Armando (Penny) Castañeda II and Analicia C. (Ted) Quester; five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; two nephews, Ignacio V. (Leo-nor) Hernandez and Esteban Orta; and a sister-in-law, Rosita E. Del Castillo all of Brownsville. Also surviving her are one step-daughter, Esperanza (Guadalupe) Padron of Hialeah, Fla.; and two stepsons, Jose A. (Lois) Del Castillo and Manfred (Lucia) Del Castillo of Brownsville, Texas. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. with an evening service at 7 p.m., today, Aug. 17, 2006, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Committal Service will fol-low at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Services will be officiated by Rev. FORTUNATA GALLEGOS DE FLORES On this day, Aug. 15, 2006, the day of the Blessed Virgen Mary our dearest mother, Fortunata Gallegos de Flores was welcomed into our Heavenly Father's grace. She was born in Cerritos, San Luis Potosi; Mexico and was a life long resident of Brownsville, Texas. Mrs. Flores was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Legion of Mary, The Society of St. Felipe de Jesus and El Grupo de Damas de San Jose. She actively visited the sick in the hospitals and nursing homes and was a crossing guard for the church's religion classes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin D. Flores; her parents, Natividad Gallegos and Guadalupe Espinoza. She is survived by her sisters and brothers, Susana, Jose, Uvaldo, Galdino, Ignacia, Francisco, Beatriz, Nicolas, Lorenzo and Manuel; brother-in-law, Ismael (Berta) Flores; sister-in-law, Julia Flores; children, Onilia (Francisco) Tejeda of Arlington, Texas, Juanita (Samuel) Peña of Stafford, Va., Martin (Araceli) Flores of Emporia, Kan., Efrain Flores, Eduardo Flores and Esmeralda Flores all of Brownsville, Beatriz (Juan Carlos) Zamora of Arlington, Texas and Laura (Jose Guillermo) Almaguer of Houston, Texas; god-daughter, Guadalupe Sada of Brownsville; 19 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and neph-ews. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. with recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 17, 2006, in the Darling-Mouser Chapel. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 18, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Pallbearers will be Ian Tejeda, Francisco Tejeda, Omar Tejeda, Ian Flores, Daniel Flores, Jesus Flores, Jose G. Almaguer II, Samuel H. Peña III and Edward Flores Jr. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Darling-Mouser Funeral Home, 945 Palm Blvd., Brownsville, TX (956) 546-7111. ALFONSO CHAPA Alfonso Chapa went into eternal rest on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006. Mr. Chapa is preceded in death by his loving wife, Maria Luisa Chapa, his parents and three brothers. Mr. Chapa is survived by his children, Maria Luisa Gaspar (Humberto) and Arturo Chapa (Norma); his sister, Carlota Hopinks (Daniel) of Brownsville; grandchildren, Brandy Martinez Gonzalez (Phillip) of Fort Worth, Texas, Jason Gaspar (Hilary) of Denton, Texas, M. Patricia Gaspar of Irving, Texas, Marisa Chapa, Clarissa Chapa, and Arturo Chapa Jr.; his great-grandson Ethan Islas; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved and cherished good times with. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., today, Thursday, Aug. 17, 2006 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. Mass of Christian burial will be at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18, 2006 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Edgar Ortegon, Manuel Treviño, Santiago Treviño, Martin Treviño, Daniel Hopinks, and Phillip Gonzalez.
