CARDENAS MONTEMAYOR Augusto G. Cardenas Montemayor, Sr. entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Saturday, July 22, 2006, at his residence with his family by his side. He was born on October 14, 1922, in Matamoros, Tamps., to Jesus Maria Cardenas and Maria Montemayor de Cardenas who preceded him in death. Mr. Cardenas attended St. Edwards University before enlisting in the U.S. Navy, where he served his country in War War II and was a self employed cattle rancher. Left to mourn his death and forever cherish his memory is his loving wife of 57 years of marriage, Irene Galvan de Cardenas, his six children, Augusto G. Cardenas Galvan, Julio Cesar Cardenas Galvan, Marco Antonio Cardenas Galvan, Mirene Cardenas de Gonzalez, Marisa Cardenas Galvan and Carlos Alejandro Cardenas Galvan; eleven grandchildren, one sister, Leticia Cardenas Montemayor and numerous other relatives. A 7 p.m. memorial Mass will be held on Monday, July 24, 2006, at Templo de la Sagrada Familia in Matamoros, Tamps.
