    3. The Brownsville Herald - Online Edition Obituaries, July 15, 2006 JOSE ANASTACIO RUANO, 48, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2006, at Valley Grande Manor in Brownsville. Funeral arrangements are pending under Guerra Funeral Home, 3955 Coffee Port Road, (956) 544-1171. JOE GALVAN, 71, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Valley Baptist Medical Center- Brownsville. He was a native and life long resident of Brownsville. Funeral arrangements are pending under Garza Memorial Funeral Home, 1025 E. Jackson St., (956) 542-5511. KERMIT LINDEMANN Kermit Lindemann passed away Sunday, July 9, 2006, at his home in El Paso, Texas, after a courageous three year battle with cancer. He was born July 22, 1945, in Champaign, Illinois, to Kermit and Ruth Bennett Lindemann. Kermit grew up in Brownsville, attended Brownsville schools and graduated from Brownsville High School in 1964. Many will remember Kermit as an avid bowler while growing up in Brownsville. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served a one-year tour of duty in Vietnam. Kermit retired from El Paso Natural Gas in 2001 after 30 years of service. Preceding Kermit in death were a brother, Karl; and his parents, Kermit and Ruth. He is survived by his sister, Lois Lindemann of Los Fresnos; wife MaryEllen; son Karl (Yvette); daughter Kelly Machorro (Joe); and six grandchildren, all of El Paso; Sydney Lindemann, the mother of his children of New Mexico; and a host of relatives and friends. Graveside services with full military honors were held on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. ESTHER GARZA Esther Garza, 95, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, July 13, 2006. She was born April 16, 1911. "We will never forget her and she will remain in our hearts forever" Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., on Friday, July 14, 2006, with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. Chapel service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Saturday July 15, 2006, at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Funeral services have been entrusted to Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, cemeteries, mausoleums and crematory, 125 McDavitt Blvd., Brownsville, Texas, 78521, (956) 541-5400. TOMAS PIZANA JR. Tomas Pizana Jr., 55, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Valley Regional Medial Center in Brownsville. He is preceded in death by his father, Tomas Pizana. Mr. Pizana is survived by his loving mother, Dolores Sada Pizana; and children Veronica Pizana, Cindy Pizana, John Joe Pizana, Tammy Lee Pizana, Tommy Pizana and Taler Marie Pizana; his sisters and brothers, Maria Estela Murillo, Jesse Pizana, Maria Madalena Pizana, Maria Dolores Flores, Estrellita Azuara, Betty Lou Casas, Tom Pizana, Rene Pizana, Rachel Carlin, Gloria Irma Mendieta and Rolando Pizana. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and other relatives. Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2006, with a holy rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Guerra Funeral Home Chapel of the Holy Family. Chapel Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday July 17, 2006, at Guerra Funeral Home with Interment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
