    3. The Brownsville Herald - Online Edition Obituaries, July 13, 2006 ROBERTO MONTEMAYOR, 65, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at Spanish Meadows Nursing Center. There will be no local services. Funeral services will be at Funerarias Lozano in Matamoros. Interment will follow at Panteon Municipal in Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Local arrangements are under the direction of Delta Funeral Directors, 1300 E. Harrison St. (956) 542-2222. ROBERTO V. LEAL Roberto V. Leal, 64, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2006, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Leal was born in Brownsville, Texas and had been a resident of Fort Worth for the past 30 years. He was an avid fisherman. Leal was preceded in death by a sister, Yolanda. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Saldaña Leal; seven daughters, Maria Elena, Margarita, Monica, Minerva, Laura, Isabel, and Elizabeth; three sons, Arturo, Daniel, and Jesus; three sisters, Angelita, Maria, and Erminia; one brother, Gregorio Jr.; 24 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Delta Chapel. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Santa Rosalia Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Delta Funeral Directors, 1300 E. Harrison St. (956) 542-2222. CARLOTA DE VILLAFRANCA Carlota de Villafranca, 89, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, July 11, 2006, in Houston. Mrs. Villafranca was born January 27, 1917, in El Rancho Ranchito, Tamps., Mexico to Manuel Treviño Chapa and Maria del Refugio Longoria Cisneros. She was preceded death by her husband, Jose Villafranca Garcia; her parents, Manuel Treviño Chapa and Maria del Refugio Longoria Cisneros; and siblings, Luz Arizmendi, Olivia Garza, Santiago Treviño Longoria, Rebeca Garza, Manuel Treviño Longoria, and Gilberto Treviño Longoria. She is survived by her loving sister, Josefina Treviño de Manzano; her loving children, Bart (Connie) Villafranca, Maria del Refugio Castillo, Guadalupe (Arturo) Juarez, Manuela (Candido) Gonzalez, Maria Elena Torres, Eva Leal and Olga Cortez; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. with recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2006, at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria. Honored to be serving as their grandmother's pallbearers are Richard Ramirez, John Ramirez, Javier Gonzalez, Jimmy Cortez Jr., Art Juarez Jr., and Joseph Villafranca. Honorary pallbearers are Linda Ramirez, Sylvia Leal, Odette Juarez de Treviño, Sonia Castillo, Diana Gonzalez de Durlam, Eva Villafranca de Galindo, Darlene Cortez de Vega and Denise Cortez. Arrangements are under the direction of Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 710 Ed Carey Dr., Harlingen, TX (956) 423-3636. JOE CLAY "J.C." FISCHER Joe Clay "J.C." Fischer, 74, of Brownsville, passed away at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, July 11, 2006. J.C. was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an automotive mechanic who worked for Bill Bannert and then for Adolph Bannert until his retirement. Preceding J.C. in death were his twin sons, Ronald and Donald; his parents, George and Maggie Virgie Fischer; and his sister, Dorothy Walker. Survivors include his wife, Macaria Ruiz Fischer; his sons, Joe Clay Fischer Jr. and Donald George Fischer; and his grandsons, Kyle George Fischer and Kevin Joe Fischer. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2006 in the Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Procession will depart the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006, for a graveside service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Military rites will be provided by the American Legion Post 43 Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Donald G. Fischer, Rene Gomez, Mike Niño, Johnny Benitez, Moy Torres and Hector Valdez.
