Monsees A/3C, and Mrs. Monsees left Friday after visiting two weeks in Brownsville with their parents, Cuban Monsees and Mrs. Julia Monsees, and Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Godfrey, and other relatives and friends. They returned to their home in California. Airman Monsees is an instructor at Parks Air Force Base near San Francisco.

CHARLES LAMONT CARTER Charles Lamont Carter, 95, of Harlingen, died Saturday at a nursing home in Harlingen. A native of Washnorn, Ark., he previously lived in San Diego, Texas and moved to Brownville in 1940. He had retired as supervisor for Cameron County with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and was a resident of Harlingen for 20 years. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Sloan in 1983. Survivors include his wife, Malvina Carter; two daughters, Ruth Maurine Prescitt and Maxine Kibbe all of Harlingen; a son, Franklin L. Carter of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Jewel Carter of Pearsall, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mont Meta Memorial Park with the Rev. Bill Beene officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home of Harlingen.

GEORGE HERMAN LOOP George Herman Loop, 84, of Brownsville, died Tuesday at Valley Grande Manor Nursing Home. Born in Grant County, Okla., he came to the Valley in 1922 and homesteaded in El Jardin area where he farmed for many years. He was a member and a deacon at Central Christian Church, served on the church board and was an active worker in the church. He also served on the board of directors of the Water District, the Farm Bureau and Cotton Gin and had been a trustee of the old El Jardin Independent School District. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Dan Loop in 1983, a son, Kenneth Herman Loop in 1959, a grandson and a great-granddaughter. Survivors include his wife, Cora I. Loop of Brownsville; two daughters, Mrs. J. B. (Elaine) Coulter of Brownsville and Mrs. Dale (Donna) Hill of Baton Rouge, La.; a brother, Irvin R. Loop of Brownsville, 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home Chapel, 945 Palm Blvd. followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. with Dr. Melvin Newland officiating. Burial will be at Buena Vista Burial Park. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, the Rev. Kenneth hill, Randall Hill, Rick Hill, Steven Loop and Mark Loop. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Lt. Joseph Coulter, John Coulter and David Hill. Friends of the family are making memorial donations to the Central Christian Church Memorial Fund.

FRANK WARREN KIBBE Frank Warren Kibbe, 86, of Harlingen, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 1996, at his residence. He was born in Brownsville to Frank W. Kibbe Sr. and Loula Rose Kibbe. He graduated from Brownsville High School, attended Brownsville Junior College and Schriener Institute in Kerrville. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater, where he saw action in the Philippines and New Guinea. He worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a livestock inspector for 34 years and retired in 1974. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Maxine Canter Kibbe, in 1993; a brother, Irvin Kibbe of Brownsville; and a sister, Rosalis Kibbe McCrosky of Corpus Christi. He is survived by four nieces, Susan Simmons of Harlingen, Joan Priday of Ingleside, Elizabeth White of South Caroline and Nancy Kibbe Kerschenbaum of Houston. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home in Harlingen. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. at Mont Meta Memorial Park with the Rev. Charles Palmer officiating. Military services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 205 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Lodge 2410. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Sandi Jo Funk Hospice Program, P.O. Drawer 2588, Harlingen, Texas 78551.

WALKER-LUNA Heather Dawn Walker became the bride of Miguel Angel Luna Jan. 3 in an evening ceremony at Portway Baptist Church. The bride is the daughter of Richard and Debora Walker of Brownsville The bridegroom is the son of Julia Garza, also of Brownsville. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a replica of an early 1900s Victorian wedding dress of ivory satin and re-embroidered lace. Her veil was made of died ivory rosebuds and ivory teardrop pearls and was designed by her mother. She carried a bouquet of two dozen roses, wax flowers and cascading Swedish ivy. The maid of honor was Crystal Faith Walker, Mary Lou Garza was the bridesmaid, and Amber Rose Walker was the junior bridesmaid. Julio Cesar Perez served as best man. Antonio Luna and Dwayne Smith were groomsmen. A reception at he Los Compadres Ballroom at VICC followed the ceremony. The bride is a 1995 graduate of Hanna High School and now attends the University of Texas at Brownsville. She is currently employed at I.B.C. Bank as a teller. The groom is a 1990 graduate of Hanna High School and served in the United States Navy. He is currently employed at Eagle Coach Corp. Following a planned honeymoon trip to South Padre Island, the couple will reside in Brownsville.

Fulton; three daughters, Bebora [Debora] L. Walker, Brandy O. Smith and Lavine Cannon all of Brownsville; a brother, Brad Smith of Lubbock; a sister, Aline Chittwood of Dallas, 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home East Chapel, 945 Palm Blvd. with interment at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. MISS AUDREY GAIL ALLISON, ROBERT L. MUNGLE MARRY Miss Audrey Gail Allison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Allison, 1734 West Adams, became the bride of Robert Louis Mungle in a double-ring candlelight ceremony in the First Assembly of God church at 8 p.m., Nov. 12. The Rev. E. L. Mason, pastor of the church, officiated at the ceremony. Large baskets of mums and white gladioli decorated the church, with potted palms for the background, accented with fern and small white chrysanthemums. White satin bows marked the family pews. Raymond Hagood was soloist and Mrs. Bert Whisenant or organist. Selections included "Because," "True Love" and the "Wedding March." Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length gown of Chantilly lace and peau de soie. The lace bodice had bell-shaped wrist-length sleeves above a skirt of peau de soie, was trimmed with cut - out designs of the French lace. Her shoulder-length veil was held in place by a seed pearl crown and her bouquet was of white orchids surrounded by white carnations. ATTENDANTS Bride's attendants were her sister, Mrs. Betty Hollie of Dallas, matron of honor; Miss Linda Allison, bridesmaid, Miss Dee Allison, junior bridesmaid, also sisters of the bride; and a niece, Miss Laura Sue Lind of Venice, La., was flower girl. Candlelighters were he bride's brother, Robert Allison of Brownsville, and her nephew, Ricky Lind of Venice. The bride's attendants wore floor-length dresses of shocking pink peau de soie in sheath style with elbow-length bell sleeves; their shoes were dyed to match and they wore short veils of pale pink with shocking pink bows to match their dresses. They carried nosegays of pink carnations. The flower girl carried a white basket of ink rose petals. Richard Frankie of Beaumont was best man; David Wright of Brownsville, Frank Carter of Pasadena, groomsmen; Dewayne Smith, cousin of the bride, Brownsville ring bearer; ushers were John Hollie of Dallas, Roderick Lind, Jr., Venice, La., Don Lunsford, Houston, all brothers-in-law of the bride. Immediately after the ceremony the reception was given in the Crystal Rom (sic) of Rio Posada.

ROBERSON Word was received here of the death of Mary L. Roberson, 82, of Spring, Texas, who died April 18, 1995, in Houston. She was a former Brownsville resident and had worked for the Cameron County Water District No. 5. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Roberson, and a son, E. Scott Roberson. Survivors include a son, James M. Roberson of Houston; two daughters, Joanna Dill and Mary King, both of Houston; a sister, Martha Lou Smith; seven grandsons, and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Earthman Resthaven Chapel in Houston with the Rev. James Criepp officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Mont Meta Cemetery in San Benito. Memorial donations may be made in her name to Lakeside Assembly Children's Fund, 7750 Spring Cypress, Spring, Texas 77379
