I have a pretty good suspicion of who is the father of Samuel B. Windham, but after almost 40 years of trying, I have not been able to prove it. If you have not already seen it, you may be interested in reading my book, "The Windham Connection" that I published in 1993. I do not have any more copies available, but I placed a copy at the Abilene, Taylor County, Texas, public library. You apparently live fairly close to Abilene. My book is a 260+ page spiral-bound softcover book about the descendants of Samuel B. Windham (born ca.1769). John B. Windham Metairie, LA
Glad to see some of the Windham family posting. I'm interested in finding as much information as possible about John Clements who was an Africian American who worked for the Windhams in Callahan Co. I think he was born into slavery in the Windham family and was given land by the Windhams in Callahan Co. It is said he is the only Black to have owned land in Callahan Co. And I could probably add some stories to the Windham family from running around a bit with Tommy and Hal Windham back in the 1950's. John Poole Houston, TX "John B.
