This is a strange request for the list, but I thought if I could get an answer anywhere...it'd be here. I'm trying to purchase a book called Belle Plain, TX: Ghost Town in Callahan published in 1972 and printed by the Brown Press, Brownwood, TX. Apparently the press is no longer in business and no one seems to know who took over the company or if it just disappeared. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Is anyone familiar with a Hart Cemetery.....where is it in Callahan County? Would they still have a caretakers phone number? Thank in advance for any information. Kimberly Hart Hart8ak@inreach.com (Northern Cal)
I am looking for information about my great uncle James (Jim) STEWART. He may have spelled his name STUARD as an older and younger brother spelled their name STUARD. James' younger brother, Robert Crawford STUARD lived in Eastland and Parker Counties. His older brother, Moses Prophet STUARD, lived in and around Stephens County. Both James and Moses visited Robert Crawford in Eastland and Parker Counties in the late 1920's and 1930's. I believe Uncle Jim settled within a 100-mile radius of Eastland County. Anyone who could furnish me with information on Uncle Jim can contact me at the address listed below. I will certainly appreciate it. Also, I will be happy to share my information on the STEWART/STUARD family. Ross Stuard Ross-@worldnet.att.net

I'm researching the Hart name in Callahan County. Apparently the family settled in Texas for some time in the 1850s from Mississippi. My husbands Grandfather was born 8 Nov 1912 in Buffalo Gap to James Ervin Hart b. 6 Dec 1874 TX and Myrtle Kate Burge b. 30 Sept 1879 Sedalia, MO. I have gotten stuck on James Ervin Hart's father, who was named James H. Hart born near Vicksburg, MS 20 Dec 1846. If anyone has any information on this family, I would love to hear from you! Thanks in advance. Kimberly Hart Hart8ak@inreach.com

Does anyone have any info on a Mrs. ANNIE THOMAS who had a daughter, GRACIE in 1880 in TARRANT county TX? Gracie was put up for adoption in 1884 and adopted by a white couple, DICK AND NANCY JANE (nannie) MATTHEWS. They later changed their name to McHerd for some unknown reason. They might be connected to a Laura Bell Shauver who at one point lived in Clarendon,TX. Thanx Brigitte
