My Dad's sister, Earle Respess, married a George Clifton and they lived between Cross Plains and Cottonwood at the top of a hill about half-way between the two towns on the farm to market road. They are both buried (I am ALMOST sure) in the Cottonwood Cemetary. They had a daughter named Faye Clifton, who died in the flu epidemic in 1918, and she is buried in the Cottonwood Cemetary. In addition to Faye, they were also parents of: Hazel (married Audrey Coppinger), Irene (married to Warren), George Ruth (lived in Littlefield, Texas for years, I think her husband's last name was Hultgren), and Walter Clifton. Aunt Earle's parents were John Taylor and Molly Gilliand Respess.

I am hoping someone can help a friend of mine. The friend's name is Bobby Joe Hickle, he is adopted and Hickle is his adopted surname. He does not have much to go on, but would like to try and find his natural father. He knows that he was born in Baird, Callahan Co., TX on 06-22-1964 and he thinks his mother said his father's surname was "Nunn". Now we realize this is not much but do any of you happen to know any Nunn's who live in this area that would be in their 50's or 60's. If anyone has any suggestions on what we should do it would be really appreciated. By the way his Mother will tell him nothing and it has caused a separation between them --can't imagine a Mother not helping her grown son to at least learn his real father's name. Hello, I'm searching for anyone who might know about or who might've attended the Hart School in the Hart Community in northeastern Callahan County located between Putnam and Moran in the 1920's and 1930's? My grandmother, Ray Nell Williams (born 1920), supposedly attended this school until it closed and was consolidated with Moran's school in 1937. This is heresay in my family that she attended school there, but no one knows for sure (not even her brother!!!) and my grandmother kept no records about it and all of her close friends that I know of are now deceased. It is said he died in Baird around 1910. I am looking for confirmation of his living in Baird and his death in Baird. I do not know if there are or were any other WALLINs living in Baird. John had a daughter, Martha Jane WALLIN, who married William Marion TONEY. They had a daughter, Berniece Elsie, who married Harry Edward LONG. Their son is my father. These people all lived in Yamhill Co., Oregon. They did not go to Texas.
