Posted on: Callahan County, Tx Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Callahan/10466 Surname: LANE, ODOM, RHODES ------------------------- I am trying to locate information on seven LANE children, five daughters and two sons. They are the children of Henry Houston and Lizzie N. Lane. I am sure two of the daughters lived in Cross Plains, Callahan Co. Texas and are buried in the area. They are May Belle Lane Odom and Lettie Lane Rhodes. The other three daughters are Grace N.,she may have married Robert L. Lewis, Lucy Lane, Lettie's twin, may have married Fred H. Zellars, and Sallie Lane Cooper. The two sons were Willie H. Lane and Edward A. Lane. I believe Sallie lived in Ft. Worth, Willie in Stephenville and Edward in Bowie at the time of their deaths. I have been unable to locate any firm information on Lucy or Grace other than their date of birth. When they were young they lived in the Cottonwood, Callahan Co. area. I have been told they were raised by my grandmother, Sarah Elizabeth (O'Neal)Lane after she and Henry H. married and she continued raising them after H.H. died. If any one has information on this family, please contact me at osmith51@msn.com

Also, there was a J.Lane listed as a deputy sheriff. I would also like information on him.

Does anyone on this list have a copy of a Texas Map in the 1900-1920 area which shows the town of Republic, TX on it. At the library, I found a reference to in that stated it was shown on a 1910 Map - NW of Llano on FM 734. If you have a map in this time frame and are willing to make me a copy of it, I would really appreciate it. Some of my relatives lived in Republic and I would like to include a copy of the map in my research papers. I apologize if you get this message multiple times, as I am sending it to several Texas County lists, and I sent it while Rootsweb was not completely back in operation. Thanks, Kay kaynlinn@aol.com
