Hi: I'm looking for information on either the Burkhead or Cosey families. I am specifically interested in finding out about Austin Burkhead b. 1857, d. 1932 and Hemsley Cosey Jr. and Nelson Fernando Cosey. Both Hemsley and Nelson were b. circa 1860 in Texas. All three men were from Caldwell Co., probably Luling. All were black men. Hemsley and Nelson were of mixed heritage, Freedmen and Indian. Hemsley listed himself as mulatto for that reason. The Native American heritage is apparent in two old pictures we have of Nelson. I'd also like to know what the address is for the Caldwell County Courthouse and the county library.
