Author: DavidLeeGibbs Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.texas.counties.burnet/442.448/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Evelyn, I'm researching the life and family of Isaac Gibbs (Gibbes) of Abercorne, GA, who brought his wife and two sons from London to the Georgia Colony early in its history (1736/7) and settled in the village of Abercorne. His wife died the first year they were in America, but he and his sons lived in, and held property at Abercorne until 1768. I haven't been able to find them after that time, but would like to learn where they moved to and especially if the boys (Isaac, Jr. - born 1728; Philip - born 1730). I have seen records of other Isaac Gibbses in Georgia from later years, but these men seem to have come from long established Gibbs lines in New england. You mentioned ancestors of your Isaac go back to 1536. Is anything in what I've mentioned familiar?
