John Clark wed Eunice B. Jane Fowler, 15 Dec 1859, in Fannin County. Why was he in Fannin? Were there other relatives nearby? Answers to those question will often aid in overcoming "brickwalls". Grayson County connects to Fannin's western boundary. In 1880 Grayson-Denison-006-Image 25, find the family led by T. J. Clark age 48 and born in Georgia. His wife R. C. (Rebecca Caroline) was the daughter of George M. Bruce and Rebecca Watson. Also part of that 1880-household were sons: James, John M., Joseph H., George, and Thomas. Son Benjamin (Oct 1876 - 19 Oct 1877) died earlier and Charles Wesley (Feb 1881 - 1938) was born after the census. The family's time in Texas was brief perhaps as a result of deaths? In addition to Benjamin, Oakwood Cemetery is the final resting place of: T. J. Clark (unknown - 9 Aug 1884), and J. Clark (29 Jan 1868 - 10 Feb 1894). I believe the latter is list! ed twice, as J. C. Clark? In either case they appear to have departed Texas prior to 1900? I believe the family's roots are in Hall County, GA? That's where John Clark wed Lucy Morris, 31 Oct 1822. Thomas Jasper was born ca. 1835 per 1850 GA-Hall-District 38-Image 61. John Clark, disputed lawman of Mason County, was his older brother? If a male descendant from the lawman's line has been found then it might be possible to find someone from Thomas Jasper's line? George W., son of T. J., had at least four sons enumerated 1920 GA-Fulton-Atlanta Ward 7-District 122-Image 35. I'm not related but would like to see this issue resolved!
