    1. [TXBURNET] Designation "Number exists***, **Death F" in Texas Birth Index
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: eGENEee Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.texas.counties.burnet/2793/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Many people have been confused by the designation "Number exists***, **Death F" in the Father's Name Field in the Texas Birth Index. According to the Texas Department of State Health Services: This designation is actually **DEATH FILE NUMBER EXISTS***, and it means that the baby was deceased. At the time that the birth certificate was data entered, the only way to make the notation in the electronic record that the baby was deceased was to enter this in the father's name fields. The actual birth certificate will show the name of the father if that information was available, and the birth certificate will be stamped "DECEASED." This format is outdated, however, and no longer used. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: brisor210 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.texas.counties.burnet/2792/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My daughter recently returned from a trip to Enchanted Rock. She was very upset with me as she found no information of the "Story of Enchanted Rock" that I had told her. Growing up my Grandfather told us this story (it was one of our favorites)I was shocked when I went in search on the internet and could not find any reference to it. My Grandfather grew up in the Burnet area and I was wondering if anyone else had a similar "Enchanted Rock" legend. Grandfathers legend was of two Indian lovers from warring tribes that were caught together on top of the mountain. Fearing capture they leaped off a cliff and landed on a ledge, where they crawled back into a cave & dies. When the wind is right you can hear the Indian princess singing to her dying lover. Has anyone else heard this version? I would also like to inquire if anyone has ever heard the story of "Tall Bet", this was a story told to kids to keep them from wondering to far from home. Author: RobRobason Surnames: Robason,Robertson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.texas.counties.burnet/1728.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Try a search for James Elbert Robason on FamilySearch.org. Robertson is an alternate spelling for Robason - it seems there was some sort of disagreement in the family about that leading to alternate use of Roberson, Robertson, and the original Robason that appears in early North Carolina history. James Elbert Robason was my Great Grandfather. My granddad, Elbert Earl was Jesse Oscar's younger brother (born 1900). More information is all on FamilySearch.org.
