He was murdered on the front porch of his home. My ggrandfather was the sheriff of Burnet County who went to the Indian Territory in seach of the murderer of Calvert and he never returned. Lawson Green left Cocke County, TN, early 1883 and was in Smithwick by Aug 1884. He was back in Cocke Coumty by Oct 1887. So I'd like to have records from 1883-1887.
