Surnames: CARTER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EhB.2ACE/1104.1.2.1 Message Board Post: Really don't know...his sister and hubby Mary Jane and AY did own a few --- their father David Carter did--he died in 1847 in Wayne Co TN Jane was given a slave I think and there were several listed later in the 1870 with Lothlin as last name who had been former slaves. EH died in Caldwell after civil war and before 1870--check the Burleson County listing in 1870 for black families who had Carter as last name...E H was Ebineezer Hezikiah...or some spelling of that...If you find any I can identify family names. His son was Labon Rice Carter and was back in Burleson and then Lee Counties later. Jan
