Specifically Moses Hughes. He lived near Mary Hughes formerly Mary or Polly Overby and her children one of whom was born a Hughes. The daughter's name was Lydia Jane Hughes - she married one of the Flippen boys - A.J Flippen. I am trying to find the name of Mary's spouse. Can't find a marriage record but have several documents listing her as a Hughes and she is Hughes on the 1850 census. There is a Moses Hughes in the 1830 census of Jefferson County AL, where she previously lived also. Could be the same Moses Hughes, the ages match up. Thanks for any info. Shelley Andrews
