In 1920, Dallas Co, Texas Census, E.D.#64, Sheet #6A, precint 1, City of Dallas shows: Black, A.P., 56 yrs. widower; A. N., son, 39 yrs; Dorris, Daughter, 15 yrs; and Steward, Son. Archibald Black is not listed as such on the 1900 Texas Census, but believe he is in 1900 Dallas Co, Texas census, Enumerated on 4th June 1900, City of Dallas, E.D. #111, Sheet #4A & B. shown as: F/HH #51/63- Black, A. P., born May 1859, 41 yrs, married 6 yrs, born NC, Father, NC, Mother, Scotland, MFG paint.; N.E., wife, born Mch 1863, 37 yrs, married 7, born TX, Father, TX, Mother, TX; A. N., son, born Oct 1880, 19 yrs, born TX, Clerk-paint store; W. M., daughter, born Jan 1883, 16 yrs, born TX; A.E., daughter, born June 1885, 14 yrs. (note: birthday must be later in month than enumeration date), born TX; R.R., son, Mar 1880, 14 yrs, born TX; F. B., son, born Oct 1890, 9 yrs, born in TX; and A. P., son, born Aug 1899, 9/12 or 9 months, born TX. Do you know what brought him to Texas from North Carolina? His parents, Archibald G. and Margaret Black were still living in Fayetteville, Cumberland, North Carolina in 1880. This is where he was born in North Carolina. It looks like he was in the middle of a large family. Arch G. Black in on page 578C of Cross Creek Twp, 1st Ward, Fayetteville, Cumberland, NC in 1880. In 1870, Archibald is on page 49 and in 1860 Archy Black is on page 455 of Fayetteville, Cumberland Co, North Carolina.
