The Lee County Cemeteries Book list only one BURNS buried in the Burns Cemetery (however, there are a number of unmarked graves): BURNS, John T. son of John H. and Eliza J. BURNS Jul 28, 1849 - Jul 22, 1858. The Lee County History Book mentions the KITE family in an article about the Knobbs Springs Baptist Church which is in the same area of the county. Bobby

I was looking up the name "Green Herndon" and it brought me to this message board. Was wondering if you might have any biographical information to share about Green Herndon. The Handbook Of Texas Online says he was lynched in a violent way in Rusk County for harboring abolitionist sentiments. This would seem to correspond to the same man, him having come to Texas from the Northern states a few years before the Civil War. Thanks very much for your kind attention. David W. Swafford

However, I am guessing on the county-the Kites moved back and forth between, Milam, Burleson, Falls, Lee and Comanche, Bowie & Erath. Any ideas or thoughts on the Burns family appreciated.
