I've got my Mary in the 1850 census in Burleson as a Hughes and no marriage record. The spouse seems to be dead at this time and isn't listed. She's just down from or right before Moses Hughes. I believe I found him back in Alabama in 1840 in the same county where Mary lived with her mother and father. Thanks for any info. Shelley

The date I have is not conifrmed, but most likely is 8 Feb., 1869. This group would be Christian Schulz and wife Freiderica (Gretchen?) Busch Schulz. Their sons, Adolph. age 4 and, Wilhelm Frederick, born on board ship 12 Dec., 1868. Also, Albertina (Mary) Busch and possibly, an elder Christian Schulz (cousin ?, uncle?) born in 1827. John Christof, age 19 (my g grandfather) should have been in this party as well. The 1900 census has their arrival listed as 1870. Do you have info in this area? Thanks for any info you can send my way. Alice K.

It's usually weeks or days before never if I hear from anyone! I appreciate the information!! I really have researched the Watson's and so forth and got a great deal of info from the net. I have been stuck with Wiliam Edward and his family. I got somewhere that he was from South Carolina - can't remember where, I will have to pull my records. I also appreciate the offer for the probate records of Cordelia - you must live close! I lived in Texas when I was growing up - near Young County where most of my Cox family is from. I will get back with you about this information - you have been such a great help, I can't thank you enough! Thanks! Jennifer

Surnames: Watson, Cox Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EhB.2ACE/1175.1 Message Board Post: Burleson County Marriage Volume 1, page 31: William Cox married Cordelia Watson on November 2, 1848. Married by Jos. A. McMurry, Justice of Peace of Burleson County. From the book, "History of Texas, Together with a Biographical History of Milam, Williamson, Bastrop, Travis, Lee & Burleson Counties" the D.O. Cox biographical sketch on pages, 524, 525, 526: mentions William Cox. It states he was a native of Alabama and met and married Cordelia Watson, daughter of William Watson, who had settled in the area about 1840. William Cox died in 1860, leaving his widow and six children, one of which was David O. Cox, which the sketch is about. It also states Cordelia, who was the daughter of William and Rebecca Clark Watson was a native of Georgia and was born about 1832. She was the eldest of 12 children and came to Texas with her parents when she was on the verge of womanhood. She died in Burleson Co. in 1863. If you would like, I will check on the probate records, etc. for Cordelia at the courthouse, the next time I am there.
