I think we moved before she attended high school. I was in elementary school. I read about the festival when I looked at the city information on-line. It looked interesting. I've been back to Caldwell twice and researched in the courthouse. Wow, it brought back memories! Siptak's (sp?) was gone, but I could just imagine where it once was and how we sat on those stools and spun around drinking cherry phosphates. We live out west now.

While in Burleson County day before yesterday, I came upon a newspaper obituary. It was of Mrs. Dyaltha Thornton. According to the obit, her first marriage was to A.J. Allbright who died at the Battle of Millican'e Bend in 1863. Before his death 5 children were born, four living at the time of her death. W.I. Allbright of Hookerville, Mrs. G.W. Smith of String Prairie, Mrs. G.W. Pool of Hookerville, and I believe my ggrandmother, Mrs. W. Rogers of Greer, Oklahoma. My Grandmother, Effie Rogers, married my Grandfather, John Dyer, the next year in Greer County, OK. I also remember Pool relatives visiting my grandparents. Can you tell me anymore about the Allbright family? I am trying to verify that I am researching the correct family. Thanks for any help you can give. Wenda

I sent to the State of Mo. archives for a copy of the newspaper from Greenville for the date Rose Fulton Cramer stated in her book, but the State says they do not have a copy of that paper. I can only assume Rose had a copy or she had access to the old papers stored about the Journal-Banner office in Piedmont. I'd love to know what the whole article said. Until I can track down the info. or the article it is a mystery. If I locate anything about Eads/Collins in reguard to robberies I'll contact you right away. Karlyn
