I was really trying to respond to Jim Cooper's message about George Washington Lamb since we're in the same Lamb family. My Lambs came from Michigan and it's quite possible that your Mary Lamb could be the sister of my Isaac Lamb, b. 1808 in Canada. He had a daughter named Mary and an aunt named Mary...so it is entirely possible that he also had a sister named Mary. You might check Hillsdale County, Michigan for your Mary and her hubby. Mine were still there in 1850 but then came on down to Texas.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EhB.2ACE/972.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Dear Karen, I did not know there were so many Wrights! I have looked over my Wright records.....from Dr. Isaac Wright of North Carolina and Tennessee....I see no male children moving to Texas. It is entirely possible that the next generation had some children who moved there! There is another Wright....no kin at all to Dr. Wright of Tennessee..Nelson Wright, born in Virginia...and can you believe?....his father was Isaac Wright also.....this has caused a lot of confusion over the years because Nelson also moved to Blount Co., Tennessee!!. Eventually, one of his descendants married into the other Wright family.....so you see, there could be a connection. I will try to look into all this and let you know if I find any clues.....I am pretty busy these days but I will do my best.... Betty Wright Thrift Oceanside, CA

    3. I want to share some good resources I have located recently through the rootsweb mailing list. Here are a few of my top ones I found most useful: http://www.uswars.net/1775-1783/ List of most units and battles of the revolutionaty war. http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/ Great for finding civil war ancestors. http://www.genealogyinc.com/maps/uscf.htm Links to county formation maps. Neat to see how county lines have changed over the years and how you can live in the same location but be located in 3 different counties in a 10 year time frame. http://www.mycensusmaps.com Links to county Census maps. Kinda like the above link only shows every ten years and overlays the previous census year so you can compare the two. VERY USEFUL. http://www.ftm2005.com/ The newest version of Familytreemaker just came out. This site show how much they changed the format from ftm 11. I am wanting to know from someone if it looks like a good investment to purchase the program or just stick with version 11. I could probobly list ALL my favorites but these are new to me and have turned out to be real gems. Lorine Dornin
