Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/EhB.2ACE/447.509.510.1.1.2.1.1 Message Board Post: A lot of the information you have is right Janet. Though his name was John H. Hill, John Thomas was his dad. John H. married Mary Jane "mamie" wright on Dec 22, 1897 in Caldwell They had 6 children Helen was the oldest born in 1900 then Johnnie (a girl) , Ethel born 1905, Bethel born 1907 Bryan born 1909 and Jennings born in 1914 jennings was my grandfather my mom Karen was his youngest John H. HIll died in 1922 from pnemonia. He was also a member of the Klan my grandfather told my mother the story when she was a little girl...they were at the funeral and the Klan came riding out and gave my great grandmother money they had collected for her. No one had known that he was one. I don't really know anything about John H.'s siblings other than Anthony lived around Brownwood as my uncle bryan would go out there to work with him. Thats what my aunt (bryans widow remembers). Unfortunately most of what we have on this side of the family was lost a long time ago. My aunt Helen was getting very old and sick so she was living with her sister Ethel since her husband Raymond had abandoned her years ago when their kids were small. When Aunt Ethel left the house for a few minutes Aunt Helen decided she was going to clean out the house. She burned pictures, letters, papers. documents to ash before anyone could stop her. My mom managed to save a few pictures but thats about it. Do you have any information on Mamies father Isaac? All we know is what was passed down to my mother. According to what she was told he was a Cherokee....and we know that he was murdered...my aunt told us what her mother-in-law (Mamie) told her that Isaac was walking when a man stopped him and picked a fight...they were both thrown in jail and the next morning Isaac was found stabbed to death. As far as we know there were never any arrests in his death. Of course the Klan and corruption ran crazy through there my grandfather told the story of seeing the Klan do a lynching in public as a teenager. I hope this helps I haven't been at this long myself but a lot of what I have is what my mother remembers and ancestry.com has been a big help too. Sarah (karens daughter)

My information shows John Thomas (not H.)Hill as born March 1878, married Mamie Wright 22 DEC 1897 in Caldwell, Burleson Co., TX. The only child I know is Helen Hill, who was born JAN 1878 and married Raymond Calvin Brown. I show the parents of John Thomas Hill to be John Thomas Hill, born 06 JUN 1844 in Indiana , married 23 MAY 1866 in Burleson Co., TX to Arabella E. Leedom, born about 1850 in Texas with parents named A.W. Leedom and Mary A. Lamb. Their other children (besides John) were Anthony, born about 1866, Commodore Perry, born 25 FEB 1867; Maggie, born about 1873; Edwin Guy, born 08 OCT 1875. This information is all undocumented. I also have a bit of information on Mamie Wright's family...the Haddox, Anderson and Stalnaker families. Please tell me what you have on John H (T?)... and how your line ties in...is it also Helen Hill, or another sibling? thanks Janet
