SARAH PRICE Mrs. Sarah Price, age 70 years, one of the pioneer residents of the Jones Chapel community, died at the home of her son, Lester Price, in Dallas Thunday evening at 7:00 o'clock after an illness of several months. The body was received this mornIng at 5:45 a. m. by the Mitcham Funeral Home and funeral services were held at 2 p. m. today at Jenkins Springs Church with Rev. W.I. Newton officiating. Internment was in Jenkins Springs cemetery. Pallbearers were: Claude Godwin, W.S. Jenkins, C. A. Thomason, Charlie Day, Roy Funderburk. Survivors are her husband, J.H. Price, and the followtng sons, Arthur, Ross, Charlie, Lester, Manzy, Wa.llace, Olon, Ovid and Ben Price; and three dauahters, Mrs Bertha Falkner, Mrs. Bessie Gotcher and Mrs. Nova Starr. She is also survived by two brothers, L.C. and Jasper Gibson, and a sister Mrs. Martha Campbell. Mrs. Price was born in Gillespie county in 1864 and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Gibson. She came to the Jones Chapel community in 1898 and has resided there ever since. She was a member of the Baptist church and was known aS a faithful devoted christian woman. ******************************************************************* Brownwood Bulletin - Wednesday, January 30, 1935 *MORTUARY SECTION* J,H. PRICE, 82, DIES; BURIAL RITES THURSDAY AT JENKINS SPRINGS Joseph Humphrey Price, 82, a citizen of this county for 37 year's, died at 5:30 o'clock this morning. Funeral services are to be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Jenkin SprIngs. Rev. W. I. Newton will officiate and Mitcham Funeral Home Will be In charge of arrangements. Mr. Price was born on September 13, 1852, in Polk County, Arkansas. He moved to Kerr County, Texas, in 1872, and then came to this county in 1898, living here until the time of his death. He was married to Miss Sarah Gibson before moving to this county. Mrs. Price died In DaIlas on December 8, 1934, and the body was brought here for burial. Mr. Price was a member of the Baptist ChUfCh. He had been in ill health for some time and had been confIned to his bed since the death of his wife last month. During the 37 years that he was a resident of this county he made a host of friends and acqauintances, who mourn his passing. He is survived by a sister, Mrs.Carolina Barr, Eugene, Oregon. The following children survive him: Arthur Price, Fort Worth; Mrs. Bertha Faulkner, Brownwood; Ross Price, Hawley; Charley Pr1ce, BrownwoOd: Manzy Price, Dallas: Mrs. Bessie Gotcher, Bradshaw; Wallace Price, Brownwood; Lester Price and Olon PriceI, both of Dallas; Ovid Price, Fort Worth; Mrs. NOva Starr, Dallas, and Ben Price of Brownwood.
