The patriarch was James Bowden. William Sebastian Bowden, my great grandfather was born in Lawrence County TN. They moved to Arkansas in 1848 and homesteaded a piece of land on Crow Mountain in Pope County near Russellville. On one of my websites, http://www.ralphandsue.com/Bowden/ , you can see my grandfather standing outside his birthplace in Pope County. The photo was taken in 1924. I hope this assists you!
