    3. Hi Tammy, This is a little off the subject and may be something you already know, but the Handbook of Texas mentions Greenleaf Fisk a bunch. Here is a link to The New Handbook of Texas Online. http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/dataware/cgi-bin/web_evaluate?dataset=TSHA&dbs=TS HA&shs_action=&multi=1&num_docs=50&query=greenleaf+fisk Maybe one of the articles will lead you to the answer about William A.--and have you checked the "Index of Texas Deaths before 1940"? I've found several tidbits there on ancestors that eluded me. Happy Hunting! 3. Kim, Where is "Index of Texas Deaths before 1940" I haven't found it on the net as of yet. What URL is it on? 3. Margie, I haven't seen it on the net yet--I used it at the Dallas Public Library. I didn't even know there was such a thing until Mr. Bockstruck saw my sad face, took pity on me and showed me my elusive ancestor complete with name of wife, cause of death and location of burial. I'm not sure how far back the index goes--and some records are pretty bare, but I've sure benefitted from it. I don't know whether the Dallas Library has folks who will do lookups--some of the smaller libraries can borrow resources, though, so you may be able to get it closer to you with the help of your library. I'm planning a trip to the library in Dallas at the end of December. I know that's a long time to wait, but I could look something up for you then if you haven't been able to get your hands on it. Sorry I couldn't be more help, Kim > -----Original Message----- > From: Margie Duncan [mailto:[email protected]] > Sent: Friday, October 20, 2000 9:05 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [TXBROWN] Pecan Bayou > > > Kim, > > Where is "Index of Texas Deaths before 1940" I haven't found it on the net > as of yet. 3. That's okay, I live in Cleburne about an hour drive. I didn't even know that they had the index there. I have several that have died here in Texas but just don't know where at. This will help me a lot. Thanks for your reply, Margie ----- Original Message ----- From: Kimberly Ritchie <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, October 20, 2000 9:25 PM Subject: RE: [TXBROWN] Pecan Bayou > Margie, > > I haven't seen it on the net yet--I used it at the Dallas Public Library.
