His great grandfather was Azariah Pate who came from either Georgia or Alabama before 1888 when he married a woman named Sarah. In 1910 he is in coleman County with the following children: James W, Marion W, Thomas A, Annie L, Bertie M, Isaac S., Maggie P and Eddie L.
