    3. OK, I have found it on the county map it says Logan Valley Cemetery. The rootsweb cemetery site shows that. Now, do you suppose there is also a Logan's Gap, perhaps a mile or so east of that cemetery, in Comanche County. I don't have a Comanche County map up, so I guess I need to get one! Also, when the railroad was going through, although the counties had been surveyed, perhaps they got confused about the county line. In vanishing communities and landmarks, there is no Logan anything and the only Rock anything is Rock Bluff Church and Rocky Creek, while the Brown County site lists Logan Valley church and Logan Valley cemetery and Rocky Creek and Rocky Creek church (but not at the same location). Gloria Mayfield's cemetery page for Comanche County lists Logan's Gap Cemetery (Rock Church) but with no information. On this page http://www.texasescapes.com/TRIPS/GreatAmericanLegendTour/ComancheCountyCourthouse/OldCora.htm I find a notation about Logan's Gap, but no location other than there was a quarry there. On the 1895 Texas atlas at http://www.livgenmi.com/1895/TX/Index/l.htm, it lists Logan's Gap as being in Comanche County with a post office, railroad, and no express office. A Hood County historical site says: The Fort Worth and Rio Grande Railway Company was chartered on June 1, 1885, to build from Fort Worth to Brownwood, a distance of 127 miles. A branch was also proposed from Logan's Gap in Comanche County to Coleman in Coleman County, a distance of 40 miles. The capital was $200,000, and the business office was in Fort Worth. http://www.granburydepot.org/z/biog/Railway.htm Another railroad site states that Logan's Gap was between Blanket and Comanche....well, we knew that! This page http://pages.prodigy.net/blankenstein/clinton.htm says it was near Comanche! This page also refers to it several times: http://docsouth.unc.edu/davism/mdavis.html So, was there another Logan place to the east of Logan Valley? Next time we go to Brownwood, we will go out there and look! Thanks to everyone who is helping with this search! --sue >Sue, >I found this listing on the Brown County page for Logans Gap/Rock Church >Cemetery.
