Both are listed in Brown County in 1880 on the Census. John married Edwina C. Bowles, children in 1880 were W.R., T.E., and F. B. Joel/Joseph's wife has initials of what looks like W. A., born in Arkansas. Children in 1880 were Wm. H, age 5, and Robt. L., age 3. These men were brothers to our Rebecca Edwina McGowan, b, 1869 in TN. Hoping to find info on their father William Holmes McGowan, b. 1815 in Mecklenburg Co. VA and was in Rutherford Co. TN in 1850, 1860 and 1870. Moved to Ellis County TX by 1880 and died there in 1884.
