Looking at > http://www.rootsweb.com/~txbrown/cemdir.html I find no Elm Cemetery. There is an Elm Creek northwest of Shirley in Hopkins County, and the creek has flowed into the reservoir a mile north of the Elm Cemetery in northeastern Rains County. -- Sue Seibert P. O. Also, on the Comanche County Cemetery page, there is a "Logan's Gap or Rock Church" listed. Contact Wandy Irby at wanda@cyberstation.net <mailto:wanda@cyberstation.net> . --sue -- Sue Seibert P. O. Box 61 Mineral Wells TX 76068-0061 siouxcitysue@cox-internet.com http://www.ralphandsue.com

I have received several inquiried regarding names in The Promised Land. I have not finished reading the book, but the index is very incomplete. As the book is in public domain, I am slowly putting it on the net. I am making an index as I go, which, hopefully will be better than the original. Keep checking the Brown County page, and I will let you know when I am done. --sue -- Sue Seibert P. O. Surnames: Frye, Frie Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/DhB.2ACE/930 Message Board Post: Ephraim V. Frye, Applicant, Company H, 6th Regiment, Kansas Calvary, declared an Invalid for Pension on December 31, 1890, at Thrifty, Brown County, Texas, age 65, held a prisoner at Taylor Texas, lost his hearing and left eye. Ephraim's identity was verified by H. I. Frie and L. R. Frie of Thrifty, Brown County Texas, who had known Ephriam for 35 years. Ephraim was born in Alabama or Tennessee and before 1890 lived in Arkansas and Missouri. I would like to learn who his parents and siblings were. Could the H. I. Frie and L. R. Frie be brothers or cousins? This is the only record I have of him in Texas. Thank you.
What BROWN families were you related to? Evelyn in Texas
