The patriarch was James Bowden. William Sebastian Bowden, my great grandfather was born in Lawrence County TN. They moved to Arkansas in 1848 and homesteaded a piece of land on Crow Mountain in Pope County near Russellville. The Bowden and Austin families are from Pope County about half way between Little Rock and Fort Smith, not Polk County about half way between Fort Smith and Texarkana. I live in Pope County. He and Nancy had 9 children. According to census, Nancy J. was born ca 1837 in Arkansas; she died 8 Jan 1877 Brown Co., TX, buried in the Jenkins Springs Cem. William A. married second to Emily Ann HENDERSON, probably Brown Co., and they had 1 son, Cullin. Emily Ann born 8 Jan 1844, died 12 Jan 1921, Jenkins Springs Cem.; her parents are unknown to me. What I have on the 10 Earp children: 1. Mary J. born 28 Sept 1854 - 13 Feb 1883, Jenkins Sprs. Cem; married William Frank Harris. 2. Elizabeth Vinnie, born 17 Aug 1858 Upshur Co., TX, died 12 Oct 1891, Jenkin Sprs Cem, married James H. HENDERSON. His relationship to Emily Ann above is unknown. 3. Sarah O., born ca 1862 4. They had 8 Children in Brown County including twins born Dec 16, 1916 (one male and one female names I am withholding since I do not have their permission) I want to know if anyone Knows anything about J H Roberts parents names marriage etc. Someone in the Family was also named Eudora Harris Roberts but do not know much about her. Will or William Roberts owned a General Store either in Brown or Coleman County and is also buried in on of those 2 counties. The Same goes for Eudora. Please let me know if you have any information pertaining to the Roberts Family Preferably prior to 1916 but any and all information is welcome and appreciated.

In Moro Cemetery I found this listing; Howton, Elizabeth w/o Willis, 8 Feb 1836--4 June 1904 Howton, Willis 10 Sept 1827--6 April 1893 Joe Howton 1858--1935 Willie Ann (Lacy) dmw 1863--1932 Possible that Joe was the s/o Willis. This cemetery is located about 8 miles of east of Brownwood on US 377, to Cemetery sign, turn right about one and one half mile to Moro. Patsy in Brownwood

I believe Jessie and Carl were nephews of my father in law - George Huckobey who moved from Texas to Dos Palos California in 1934. However his son David M. Brown born Dec 1859 did come to Okla. but i have not searched for him-info passed on to me by a fellow researcher shows he died in Walters, Okla. but no date . He married a Marm-Anthum Woodruff Alias [Becky] and i believe she is a sister to my John W. woodruff-[my ggrandfather he was born Jan 1859 census shows alabama but i have not found either of them on the 1860 al. census and I have read every county. in Alabama. My Merrill Brown's father was William Brown born about 1793 in Va. his mother Janis was born about 1802 in Va. On the 1860 Al. census listed is a Eliza Brown M age 38 farmer dwelling 353 them my Merill dwelling 354 and a Jane or Janis dwelling 355 that could be their mother. all in Alabama, SomervilleP.O.
