Many of these records begin in the early 1880s and come forward to the 1920s. I will keep these names in mind as we go through these records. The Civil District was where divorces were filed. There are many more divorces recorded than many people would have imagined for this era. Clay BTW- What dwelling or page was she enumerated on in the census ?

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/DhB.2ACE/988.1.1 Message Board Post: I finally did find the family listed in 1900 United States Federal Census > Texas > Brown > Brownwood > District 4 Villepigue? Katie J. Nov. 1876 23 Wd. 2 2 No Occupation Sunshine C. July 1895 5 Olive Dec. 1897 2 Kate was a widow by this census. She very well may have remarried again but I am fairly certain that she died by 1906 or so and I don't know what happened to the girls. Sunshine is married to Homer Griffin by 1910 and Olive married Carl Milbrandt according to some photos that I found today. I wonder though if this J.K. Street is her because if she were a widow, why would she have gone back to her maiden name? There are some strange circumstances here and now I am thinking that she might not have been a widow at all. Maybe she divorced the man. In a letter I have: Waco June the 22 1897 ..... dear Lizzie your letter gave me the facts of my dear Katie, as you Ma cantt talk about it. with out being excited. I feel sorrow for her an my poor boy as it is a hard trial to them boath. She seam to be more reconcile now. then when she first come...... your grand ma that loves you. M. A. Long So maybe this Villepique was abusive? Just kicking around some thoughts.

The one in Brown County where you posted this message, one in Orange County, Texas and a third in Harris County, Texas. I thought this might be a lead for you. One other thought, Brownwood has often been confused in print with Brownsville, Texas. Just some random thoughts. . . . Good luck.

(bride) to Savage, Geo. B. May 22, 1901, Bk.4, Pg. 331. I could find no reference to a Street, Geo. Savage, or any Spelling of Vill??? in either the 1900 or 1910 Brown County, TX Census. I could not find a burial for any of these names in the Rural Cemetery Records, but will check the Greenleaf Cemetery Cemetery (In Brownwood proper) Records Monday for you. I hope this helps, good luck.

    3. Sorry for barging in on your thread (being unrelated), but did you notice that you have TWO discrepancies here, not just one.
