His name was Ibry Kidd and all I have is Callie for her name. No dates or info. Vera had been a resident of Ingleside, Texas since 1929. Born to Hattie Dunlap Carroll and Allen Florentine Bowden October 25, 1899, in Clio, Texas, Vera was the second of seven children. Vera was an active member of the Ingleside United Methodist Church, life member of United Methodist Women, past member of the Democratic Womens Club, and was an election official in trustee, city and general elections from 1931 into the 1970s. The Chamber of Commerce slogan, "InglesideBreezeway to the Gulf," was coined by Vera. She was a Charter Member of the Ingleside Womans Club. Vera is survived by her son, Col. B. Frank (Marjorie) Alford, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, John W. (Priscilla) Casall, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; Col. Ben F. (Theresa) Alford III of San Antonio, Texas; Col. Laura Counts of Denver, Colorado; and Susanne Alford of Washington, D.C.; four great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and very special friends. Vera was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Benjamin Frank Alford, and her daughter, Wanda Rae Alford Casall.
