    3. Posted on: Brown County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Brown/721 Surname: DEAVER ------------------------- Ironically, Rachel does not descend from the Brown County Deaver line as I do. She is from the Grayson County line, which arrived in Texas around the 1830s. The Brown and Erath/Hood County Deavers did not arrive until the 1860s to 1870s. The two lines do link back in the late 1700s in VA/NC. Just a little Deaver trivia... Joe D. 3. Posted on: Brown County Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Tx/Brown/707 Surname: Henderson, Smith ------------------------- In answer to Hazel Brown Sanders, entitled NANCY C HENDERSON, who died 1920 at Siloam, Lee co, TX, I am sorry but I do not see data suggesting a relationship to my Nancy SMITH HENDERSON OF Brown co, who died Brown co in 1925. Of course, I dont mean there is no connection, there easily could be. Nancy Elizabeth Smith Henderson was born in Clarke co, AL, on 10 Feb 1836, and married Marion Henderson 14 Dec 1855. This info is from an article entitled "Henderson Family" by Emmarie (Wise) Henderson of Brownwood; I GUESS the article itself is from a Brown Co History book by the local Gen. Society, at least it appears so to me. It is about ten pages long. The part about Clarke county AL comes from Nancys application for a Civil War Pension as the widow of Marion. That info is available from the Texas State Library in Austin, in their Online Library. You have to write for the detailed info, which may break you if youre pore like me, it cost me 8 cts per page and was about 7 pages long. One can find this Nancy Henderson on Brown co censuses 1880 through 1920. She is buried in a private cemetery about three miles from Brookesmith TX.

    3. Contractor that built Camp Bowie was H.B. Zachary of San Antonio. My father was a "carpenter foreman" on the construction of it in 1942. The Zachary Co. is still in business even though H.B. is now deceased. His son, H.B. Jr. was appointed as chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas last week Charlie
