I am wondering why my LEE's would have moved so much. I just have bits and pieces right now but they lived in: Milam Co., in 1875 (child born there - Pharbia LEE) Freestone Co., in 1880 (child b. there - Martha S. LEE) Brown Co., in 1885 (child b. there - Robert K. LEE - my direct ancestor) Does anyone have any ideas as to what would have caused them to move like this? * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Becky on Indian Mtn. Posted on: Brown County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Brown/762 Surname: Ashford, Conner, Cox, Burns, Baker ------------------------- Searching for the descendants of the James C.(1823-1899) & Jane (1823-1898) Ashford that are buried in the Eureka Cemetery, located west of Blanket, Brown County, Texas. Probate Records indiate that they were survived by the following: 3 grandchildren(children of daughter Mary who married John Conner); Elizabeth, who married George Cox; and Julia who married Arthur Burns. The 1880 Census data seems to indicate that Mary Ashford Conner is deceased by that time. John Conner is also a mystery. Our granddaughter's paternal line points back to Mary & John Conner through their daughter, Mary Jane Conner that married Solomon E. Baker, but we have very few details. At least a part of this family remained in Brown County. We are searching for details on the orgin of James C. Ashford, as well as any details about his descendants.
