Posted on: Brown County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Brown/10779 Surname: FISK MANLOVE ------------------------- How many FISK researchers know Greenleaf's 2 wife was actually Mary A. Manlove's sister? I have a copy of the marriage certificate. I have not yet been able to find out what happened to her or her children. She was the widow of Cornilus Lane from Bastrop. If any one has run across any information regarding this, I would like to know. This makes Mary Piper Hawkins his 3 wife. Thanks Tammie

    2. Hey Jean, I'm in Hendersonville, 20 minutes from Asheville, up in the mountains. My daughter is a freshman at Chapel Hill this year and is taking a few undergrad pathology courses! If you notice anything amiss on the site, let me know. One or two of the chapters are giving me fits and need fixing. I have a couple of pictures I'm shooting up next week and more coming from a relative in Houston, TX. I'm also putting up pictures of the other Brown Co. folks mentioned. Thanks, Kathryn

    3. Dear Kathryn, I have read most of the story "From Missouri to Texas by Covered Wagon-1884" and I have began to print it out a chapter or two at a time. Just don't want to tie up the phone line too long at a tome. It has been very interesting reading. I am glad that I noticed your earlier message on the Brown Co. Message Board. I have gotten several good leads and discovered new cousins via the Message Board. What part of The Carolina's are you from? My son and daughter-in-law lived outside of Chapel Hill when he was doing his residency in surgical pathology at the University of North Carolina. They are in Maryville, TN now. 3. Rebecca, Texas was still in a state of rebuilding after the war, and I'm sure jobs and money were not easy to come by. Pillaging indians caused a lot of settlers to move on. I know my family moved a lot in those years too from Williamson County to Mills, Brown, Coleman and some even went to LLano and Burnet counties. A lot of of families followed the crops, wheat and cotton and later peanuts in and around Deleon, Dublin and Comanche County. Hope this doesn't sound to much like a history lesson. Patsy in Brownwood BTW Do you have an Angus LEE in your line? He married my great-aunt Hannah Harris

    3. Hi Patsy. Thanks for the info. My Robert K LEE was b. in Brownwood - I guess he had a barber business there before going to CA in 1918. I only know of 3 of his sibling - all females - at this point. And I know nothing of his father, John LEE's, siblings or parents. So, I could have an Angus but this LEE line is fairly new for me. One more thing: Who/where would I write to find out abt a business license for Robert K. LEE? (b. 1885 Brownwood) or land ownership - anything of that sort? Thanks.
