Hey Jean, I'm in Hendersonville, 20 minutes from Asheville, up in the mountains. My daughter is a freshman at Chapel Hill this year and is taking a few undergrad pathology courses! Rebecca, Texas was still in a state of rebuilding after the war, and I'm sure jobs and money were not easy to come by. Pillaging indians caused a lot of settlers to move on. I know my family moved a lot in those years too from Williamson County to Mills, Brown, Coleman and some even went to LLano and Burnet counties. A lot of of families followed the crops, wheat and cotton and later peanuts in and around Deleon, Dublin and Comanche County. Hope this doesn't sound to much like a history lesson. Hi Patsy. Thanks for the info. My Robert K LEE was b. in Brownwood - I guess he had a barber business there before going to CA in 1918. I only know of 3 of his sibling - all females - at this point. And I know nothing of his father, John LEE's, siblings or parents. So, I could have an Angus but this LEE line is fairly new for me. One more thing: Who/where would I write to find out abt a business license for Robert K. LEE? (b. 1885 Brownwood) or land ownership - anything of that sort? Thanks.
