    3. Can anyone tell me if the Brownwood Bulletin is on-line and the url for it. Former B'wood resident 1940's-50's. I used to be a paper boy there. Bought the papers for 3 cents and resold them for 5 cents at the age of 7. Also made popcorn at the local movie house at the age of 10 for the owner a Mr. L.D. Brown. Then went to work for Mr. Underwood as pot & pan scrubber at the age of 12, before he ever had a cafe and made the BBQ in his backyard. My next job was putting the roller skates on for the female customers at the skating rink at the age of 13. Bought my first car in B'wood for $25.00 and a .22 rifle in trade to boot at the age of 14. 3. Juanita, I just read your post on the Brown county queries, as luck would have it, I have been looking for you for about 7 or 8 years. My mother-in-law is the daughter of William Lee Sides half- sister Emma Dee SIDES Calder. She is 86 and she lives with me. I recently sent to Wheeler Co., Tx. for Williams death certificate to try to find out who his mother was. Effie Cheatwood was the informant and she did not know the name of his mother. I found William and Sarahs marriage liscense and Effie Dees birth certificate, also a birth certificate for Roy Lee Sides, son of William and Elizabeth Green Sides in Williamson county some time ago. I have been trying to track down two other Children of William R. Sides and wife unknown, Amanda and Martin. Found Martins marriage in Colorado and read in a book information that Roy Sides had provided that Martin died in Colorado in 1940; wrote for a death certificate but was unable to find one. I got an address for a relative named Haskins from the LDS library, wote to him and the response was that Martin died in Oregon, but again was unable to find a death certificate. Amanda was still living at home in the 1870 census but have found no trace of her since. Amanda , Martin, and John William Lee belong to William R. (Riley) Sides and wife unknown. I have always been under the assumption that William R. married after he came to Texas, but have been unable to find out where or to whom. 1860 has William in Bastrop Co., but he appears to be single at this time. However the 1870 census has him living on a farm with Tom Tyeen ( Tyreen), with three children and no wife, the oldest child age is given as 11, making her birth in 1859, possibly after the census were taken. Writing this raises another question, if the dates and ages are right did William marry a woman already pregnant? My, My, things get even more tangled, do they not. Emma Dee, Lemon Dee, (twins), and Riley Sides belong to William R. and Eliza Jane Whitmire Sides. After William died in 1888 Eliza later married John Middleton Sarratt and they had a daughter named Gracie Valentine; Gracie's daughter Lois lives in Oklahoma, if she hasn't passed on in the last couple of years. I have photos of William and Eliza, John Wm., Emma and Dee; Effie and Gracie, and of Gracies family. A picture of Gracie and Emmas oldest daughter, Myrtle, made in 1895, they were babies. I have a photo of a man holding a baby on a horse that Lois and I believe might have been made at Effies house but not sure of the person or location. I can trace William R. family back to the landing of the ship "Lydia" in1742, landing in Waldoboro, Maine, from Wurtemberg, Germany. Where do you live, maybe we live close enough to get together to exchange info and pictures in person. Since Emma is my husbands grandmother and she and William have the same father, that would make William his great uncle. Will be glad to share what I have. Well I guess I have made this too long as I usually do when I get started after making a new connection. So I guess I had better say goodnight, hope to hear from you soon. 3. I knew a George Boyd years ago in Brown co. that was a photographer. They lived north of Brownwood, between Owens and May. I don't recall his wifes name though. He later moved into Brownwood. I am related to Lorena Pittman who married Lonzo Boyd. Don't know if Lonzo is connected to your Boyds or not. I have been out of touch with most of my Pittman family for a lot of years and have only begun to meet some of them since I started doing the genealogy. Their son Gainer lives here in Brownwood but is very ill at this time. Patsy

Thanks so much for the information. It was mostly names and dates that I did not have. I have some of the old photos, most like some that George took, of family members of some of the Boyd's. I also have a photo of George Boyd that was taken at the JONES reunion in Brownwood when it was held at the park by the river. There are others doing family history on families in Brown Co. I will help others like they have helped me. Thanks again!
