    3. David, I have Nancy Jane as being a Wheeler not a Rutasil. However, I can't find a Nancy Jane in my earlier family history. Do you know who her parents were? I have her born June 18, 1832. I have a contact that might have this information. I will e-mail him and see what I get. Ella Lee Wheeler who married John Skidmore was my grandmother's sister. She later married a Jones and is buried at Pleasant Valley Cem. near May, but you probably know this. I'll check this out and get back with you. 2. Smith Cemetery is located on Pecan Bayou. It is in the north west part of Brown County not too far from Cross Cut. It is very difficult to find. A lot of DeBusk, Edington, Phillips, Smith and Helms are buried there

    2. Thanks for your reply. It sounds like we may have a connection. What can you tell me about the Watsons? I have Ancil Roe Watson who was married to a Marie. His daughter Sallie Francis married my John Braud Ford. I just know we're dancing all around a link here! I'm so excited! Looking forward to hearing from you soon about this possibility.

    2. The Bailey's in my family are also related to the Watson's in the areas around Brown and Coleman counties. I have a Margaret Roe that married a Talley, a Mary Margaret b. 1856 who also married a Talley, and a Mary Margaret b. 1839 who married a Mr. Coffee.

    2. Interesting you would point that out. I knew about the naming pattern because it has occurred many times in my other family lines, but it had not dawned on me that Roe could have been a surname of an ancestor--I guess because his mother was a Watson, and beyond that, I have no idea who his ancestors were. You've given me an idea, though, and if I should detect anything I will be glad to let you know. Thanks for the response. By the way, I don't have his grandmother's maiden name. You wouldn't happen to have a Margaretta Ann Roe in your files would you?

According to the information I have, They were born on June 20, 1846 and were from Germany. At one time Dilly was supposed to have lived in Abilene,Texas. Do you have some one who married a Dilly Rutasil on your list?

    1. [TXBROWN] Re: Ford settlers of May, Texas late 1800s
    2. I am related to the Roe families in the Wolf Valley community near May, TX. It is interesting that your Ancil Roe Ford had the name Ancil Roe for the first and middle names. A lot of women would name one of their sons by their maiden names. If you find a connections to the Bailey, Rippy, ROe's of that area, let me know. Sandy Bailey Hunter

    1. [TXBROWN] Re: Maggie Reeves
    2. Thank you for replying to my querry about Maggie Reeves. I'm sorry to say that we do not connect. My Maggie Reeves (father Green Reeves) married Thomas N. Cox. This all took place in Texas. My Maggie Reeves came to Texas as a baby in the early 1800's. I have other ancestors from Georgia, but supposedly, my Green Reeves came from Kentucky (probably somewhere else before that, sometimes they gave their LAST living state as where they came from on the census). I have never been able to find out the parents of Green Reeves. Do you have any Green Reeves listed in your Reeves? Maybe we could find a connection after all. It's always nice to have someone else looking for the same family as they can share info and help each other in research. Thanks again, Cat
