Kristin Taylor 16 and Katie Taylor 9. Both of Greenwood died after their car collided with a semi-trailer at 1:00 PM Tuesday 2.5 miles east of Midland at the intersection of Texas Highway 158 and County Road 120, said Sonya Harrell communications supervisor for the Texas Department of Public Safety in Midland. The parents of the two girls are Mike and Judy Taylor, both of whom are teachers with the Midland Independent School District. The two girls were both students at Greenwood schools- Kristin a junior at Greenwood High School and Katie a fourth grader at Greenwood Intermediate School." We are deeply saddened by this tragedy and want to express our sympathy to the Taylor family" said MISD Superintendent Robert Nicks " Our thoughts and prayers are with them."Midland County Justice of the Peace George Zimmerman pronounced Kristin Taylor dead at the scene Tuesday at 1:40 PM Harrell said. Katie Taylor was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital after the accident and died there at 1:00 PM Wednesday, Harrell said. Kristine Taylor was driving a 2001 Ford Escort south on CR120 Tuesday when it collided with a tractor trailer traveling west on SO 158 driven by Hector Aranda of Midland Harrell said Aranda was not injured in the accident. Harrell said the truck struck the car on the drivers side and drugged the car more than 200 feet before coming to rest with the truck on top of the car. I can't say I ‘ve ever seen a worse accident than this one Harrell said. Judy Taylor is currently waging against cancer. Evelyn, Have you read the delightful story that Kathryn Hermann posted on the Rootsweb Brown Co. TX. website? An ancestor of Kathryn's, Dr. James 'Fred" Harrell wrote a book titled Missouri to Texas by Covered Wagon 1884. It mentions a Lafayette in it. Perhaps you'll find some useful information in it. This information was the only information that we found . Hello, Nannie Harrell also died in 1884 soon after arriving in Brown Co. with her family from Buffalo, MO. She was the sister of my great-grandfather, Fred Harrell. We have been unable to find any information about her death-I believe she was 13. Are there any local or regional church or civic publications extant from that time period that would have documented an epidemic or carry obits? Leah, The earliest Watson that I have is Thomas Watson that died in 1810 and married Coatesworth. I know they probably had other children, but the only one that I show is Mary "Polly" Watson b. Jul 23, 1780 in Richmond VA. She died 1853 in Lumpkin, GA. Mary Polly married Anselem Andrew Roe b. 1772 in NC. The next connection that I have with this family is through their oldest son Thomas W. Roe that married Amy King they had a son John Kenning Roe. The above is my Roe and Watson connections.
