The information I was given states they married in 1849 in Gonzales Co., Texas, and William Byrd died October 4, 1864. It does not say if he died in the Civil War but I am assuming it is possible. Irene then married Jasper Newton Key in 1868. Irene Cotton was born February 21, 1832, in Alabama. Could William Byrd Lockhart be a son to Byrd Lockhart who is most likely buried in West Columbia, TX? Happy to share any Cotton information if interested. One was written in 1857 by Alexander Flythe and the other in 1926 by his nephew Joseph Flythe. Thanks to Doug Pickett for sending copies of the letters! For descendants of the three brothers who went to Tennessee, we have added a History of the Capps Family by Bessie L. Capps. There is also a new map at the beginning of the Early North Carolina folder. It shows very roughly where some of the very early Fly men lived. Michael has added a search function. Enter the name of your ancestor and you should be able to find that section of the site easily. Lastly, we corrected some typos that cousins pointed out to us. We both hope you will enjoy this site! Thomas A. Turner's wife, mother of all his kids, was Mary Elizabeth Watson. That's found on their daughter, Mamye/Mamie, death certificate. Find Thomas Turner in 1870 Burnett-Precinct 1-Image 3. Next door lived the family led by Z. E. Watson age 43 and born in Kentucky. The head was Thomas' mother-in-law with son-in-laws: L. J. Watson and Washington Watson. Billy Eugene Stewart (29 Aug 1923 - 10 Jan 1976) died in a military hospital, San Antonio. He's buried Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery of that city. Found a marriage record to Bobbie Ruth Livingston on 23 Jul 1963 in Brazoria but no kids? Also did not find kids for his sister Margaret who wed Chester R. Rigall, Jr. That's personally distressing 'cause I also did not find a family tree. I'm not related but believe everyone has a history and that "story" should not end with the last ancestor.
