Grace Generation No. 1 1. WILLIAM S.1 GRACE was born 1783 in KY., and died Bef. October 1850 in Cass Co., TX.. He married NANCY MCLEAN February 17, 1825 in Christian Co., KY. She was born 1790 in SC., and died Aft. 1860 in Cass Co., TX.. Notes for WILLIAM S. GRACE: In Feb. 1839, (probably from Alabama) the Wm. S. Grace family came to Cass Co., TX.. They settled on land he purchased near Lanark community, for 13 labors(?) from John M. McClure, who had obtained it from the original owner, George W. King. Subscribing witnesses to the Grace & McClure transaction were J. A. Beasley and Washington S. McClure. William S. Grace's wife was named Nancy. Their daughter Elizabeth married Henderson Ward, who had the first Blacksmith shop at Linden. Daughter Rebecca Amanda married L.A. Stapleton. Sarah Harriet married first, a McAdams, perhaps Charles; secondly she married James B. McWhirter. William S.
