Becky , Linda and I would like to take this opportunity to thank each person who participated in the Census CD project for the years 1850-1900. We have received the first CD which contains the years 1850-1880, the 1900 Census will be mailed tomorrow. As a result of your continued support and more than generous contributions, in most cases as much as ten times the minimum amount required for each year, we each now have our set of CDs, and in addition, as a part of the program, the US GenWeb Archives will also receive a complete set of these records. As an additional bonus, since these records have now been made, now others following us will be able to obtain these years at their convenience and will receive them promptly. although not at the special group price we received.. Each person who participated in the initial project will be given credit by S & K Publications to US GenWeb Archives for this wonderful contribution per Mr. Schunk. Since not just one person was responsible for these records being made available, all will be included in the credits. Again, thanks for your support and generous spirits. Those of you who ordered the census cd's, it will be helpful to have the index for the years 1850-1880 which can be purchased from the Texarkana USA Genealogical Society. I purchased my set and now that I've received my cd, I'm ready to get to work on them. As soon as the rest of the years get indexed in book format, I also plan to purchase them as well.
