Bowie County Citizens Tribune/DeKalb News, August 16, 2000 Used with Permission Amy Pvt. Casey D. Cowley has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the training, Cowley received instruction and practice in drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history and tradition. Cowley is the son of Ronda and David, and brother of Jessica Cowley of 1002 Boston Avenue, New Boston, Texas. He is the grandson of Lois and the late Jessie Ray Cowley of New Boston and Joe and the late Thelma Bohon of Texarkana, Texas. A special friend, Melissa Smith of Redwater, Texas. Cowley is a 1999 graduate of New Boston High School. He is currently attending AIT training in Fort Eustis, Va., specializing in Aviation Electronics. Casey will graduate in October. After a brief visit home to New Boston, Casey will be stationed in Fort Campbell, Ky. Casey's family and many friends are proud to be a part of his decision for a progressive future.
