I am hoping that someone knows more about a story that my Daddy's cousin Willie Jones Lawrence (female) told about 50 or more years ago about some people wanting to move the Bowie County Courthouse. The story went that they were circling the courthouse shooting off guns and others were inside this courthouse with guns of course. I had to have happened around 1900 or a little before because my Grandfather Wiiiam Buckingham Ramsey was on the inside not wanting to move the courthouse, and he and his wife Leona Melissa Garret Ramsey and son William Signor Ramsey moved to Detroit around that time.
