She still might be distant kin to the Tidwells in Bowie county, but she is probably not from Levi Tidwell's line, since all the boys in his line were born in Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Georgia. Lea was born around 1875 in Texas, but when I checked the index for the 1880 census, I found dozens of Tidwells living all over Texas. Your only recourse is to visit your library and look all of those Tidwells up, find a husband & wife born in Missouri with a daughter named Lea or Lee who is about 5 years old, and you have your people. --Jim Maroon [email protected]
