Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/GkB.2ACI/949.1 Message Board Post: Data located through Rootsweb.com indicates that Wilma Evans, daughter of Nell W Murphy and Dr. W. H. Evans married Johnny Escar Arnold who was born 13 Oct 1912 and died 24 Jan 1963. Johnny and Wilma had a daughter named Betty Nelle, b.2 Sept 1936. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to do a lookup on a marriage record for her. Johnny Escar Arnold is buried in Center Ridge Cemetery in Bowie County. The records show headstone for Wilma Murphy Arnold having a birthdate of 19 Aug 1917 but no death date is listed. She possibly could still be living. Bowie county records show that A J [Albert James] married Bertha Candes on the 29 of Dec, 1912.

Hey all, I don't have any of the other names, but since I'm a Chisum I think I have a couple of those. I only have about 4 generations back and I can't give you exact info now since I'm at work, but I'd love to trade any information that would be useful to both of us. It is an area history with family histories of numerous families who lived in an area along the Red River and Lamar County, TX line. Several families had ties to Bowie County, including those listed above, and possibly others. I can supply a website showing the names in my book for anyone interested in learning more about this book.
