    1. (TXBOWIE)...RE. DeKalb Cemeteries
    2. Hi! I would love info on this Stewart/Shuffield line. I have it as Sheffield but Sarah's little brother Everett is kinda my line...Well his first 2 children are suppposed to be. I live in Dekalb and would love to know about church/cemetery connections here... What part of central Texas did your line move to? Everett (E. R.) was in Leon County in 1880 but I have no data on them after that...we have found where his son Elijah is buried though....Love to hear from you....Jerri in DeKalb Previous Message HI Joni, my name is Lajuan Pruett Boyle and I live in Wake Village. My great grandparents lived in DeKalb but left there in l892. They must have lived not too far from the old cem. Shadrack Franklin Stewart was a founding member of the Meth Church.and started paying taxes in l848. Several members of his family and of his first wife's family must be buried in the old cem. I have no proof, just an educated guess. He either owned a hotel or ran a hotel before he left for central Tex. HEre are the ones I think could possibly be buried in the old cem: Sarah H Shuffield Stewart (died ca l864 I think from Measles (first wife of Shadrack F Stewart) Below are some of his ch: Cordelia Stewart (l858-and prob died in l864 ) Almeda Stewart (l864 and not on the l880 census and I've never located her--of course she could have married but my grandmother never mentioned her so perhaps she died early Willy Stewart l874-l892 stabbed to death when he came upon a fight and got in the way A. (female listed as age 2 on the l880 census and never memtioned by my grandmother Newel Stewart l887-l890 All the above are children of Shad Stewart l826-l897 Does anyone have a list of schools and school children in DeKalb about l890?? MY grandmother (next to the last child of Shadrack and Lucy Ann ) was born in l884 and would have attended school for awhile before leaving for central Tx in l892. I would enjoy hearing from you and your thoughts on the above people possibly being buried in the old cem. Sincerely, Lajuan
