My aunt, Eileen Wood Eubanks died on 21 Apr 1981 in Bowie County. Would love to get an obit and cemetery listings for her. Her husband was Robert L. Eubanks, he died on 20 Dec 2000. Can anyone tell me where to look? Thank you, Debbie Dctuck69@aol.com
Hello Fellow Listers. I would like to ask if anyone is familiar with this location: 205 Highway Street in New Boston? This was the home of my aunt Clystie Gossett, I think for all of her adult life. She ran the New Boston Telephone system out of her house. There may even be a phone company building nearby, now. I would love to know if this house is still there and maybe even get some kind soul to take a photo of it??? Thanks sooooooo much in advance, Carl _______________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Hello fellow listers, This is not my family. I found two pictures in my grandmother Newsome's estate. One is of an elderly woman and seems to have been taken in the 1880's to 1900. On the back is written: Mrs. Liza Steelman - New Boston Neighbor. The other is a 1900 - 1910 era photo postcard and written on it is Pearl Steelman. I would be happy to make and email a high quality scan if anyone is interested. I would like to find out where this "neighbor" lived as I have no idea where my grandmother's family lived in New Boston. My Grandmother was Finnie (Fina) (NEWSOME) PALMER. Her parents were Allen Lawson and Susan Elizabeth (Conley) NEWSOME. Thanks soooooo much in advance, CArl __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New and Improved Yahoo! I'm planning a trip down that way and would like to visit my aunts grave but my research indicates that there is no headstone and I am not sure if there is a marker. Her last name is Douglas, Elila Maud and died Jan. 15, 1945. Any help in this matter would greatly appreciated. Robert

Roxanne, I'm doing my family tree and I'm kinda at a brick wall. MOST of my mother maternal family was born and grew up and died in Bowie County. Some are still living there now. I get to come up once in a awhile, but have no idea where to start. So maybe you can help me. Maybe if I can take a trip up there in the future you can help me then too. I've been researching for 4 years now, but mom has been for 29 yrs. But still don't know exactly where to start. Anyway, I'm looking for ANY information on the family of Joseph and Cordelia Harper. They had four children: Ann A., Maggie Alice (She married Richard Furnace Terral), Minnie Raford (she married Samuel Jefferson Sturgeon and others, buried in Red Lick Cemetery along side her husband, George Martindale, she is my gg grandmother) and David Omer (He married Effie Connell I believe was her maiden name, they are buried in Bascom Cemetery in Tyler, Smith Co., TX along with daughter Lalla R. Harper) I don't know anything abou! t Ann. What I know is that they came from Independence Co., Arkansas. All children were born in AR. They show up in Bowie County on the 1910 census records. Haven't been able to locate them in 1900 in AR or TX yet. They are on the 1880 Census record in AR. Their youngest, David, was born in 1892 in AR so they came to Bowie County anytime between 1892-1910. I have J C (Joseph) and Cordelia being buried in the Malta Cemetery (I have pics), but nothing else. Can you please help me? Anything on J C, Cordelia or their children would be helpful. Thanks a bunch Chastity

Don't know if this will help you but I found a map in the book "Texas Land Title Abstracts". The map was courtesy of Midland Map Company Midland, TX. I only copied the map of Franklin and Titus counties as I had one of Bowie. Do not remember where I got it. May have been from this same book. I can check Thursday when I go to the library and can let you know. BTW the Dalby's and Bullocks are in my collateral lines. This is not exactly a genealogy question but you may be able to help me. In 1939 my grandfather Tilman M. Cantrell died leaving 2 farms to his children. They later sold the land but retained some mineral rights. The property was north of Hwy 67 on what is now Lone Star Ordnance Plant. How do I find out if they are drilling for oil on that property? Here are some of the heirs' names: John Cantrell, H. E. Cantrell, Jewell Cantrell, T. M. Cantrell, Carria O'Donald, Katherine Harper, Regina Myers, and Lena Myrick. All these people are deceased but there are quite a few of us grandchildren living. Thanks for your help. Julia Myrick Clay
