Hi list, Anyone know anything about this person's family. I believe he is the son of my great aunt, Martha Saunders / Sanders, b.1838, m. Eli A Chancy (or a variation) about 1859, moved with family before 1870 (to Texarkana TX, according to family lore). This record found on the TXBOWIE Genweb site, postmasters page CHANCEY Seven miles southeast of Texarkana. Postmaster Appointed Benjah Chance Oct 6, 1890 Office discontinued December 7, 1892: mail ordered sent to Texarkana.
Anyone familiar with the Harrison Chapel Cemetery, in Texarkana, TX? I have ancestors buried there, and would like to see a list of people buried in the cemetery, to learn of my ancestors buried there. Also, anyone visit the Harrison Chapel Cemetery, from time to time? I surely would like to obtain photos of my Whitaker, Harrison, & Moores ancestor's monuments. Thanks, Sallie Cannon

Can someone help verify a bit of 'information' for me? From, what I consider a very reliable source, I have that Matilda Maulding married James Brothers. On FTM, I find Matilda Barzillia Maulding married to Jesse D Brothers, March 4, 1841 Bowie County and later married W H W Williams. FTM has siblings for this Matilda which both agree and disagree with what I have. Also have Parents of Matilda as Presley Maulding and Catherine Barzilla. I have Catherine to have been the daughter of James Pore, which I think can be fairly well proved. I don't think there were two Presleys in Bowie county who gave their eight children the same names. Bill Trott
Wish to make contact with descendants of : REUBEN HARRISON, b. 1760, mar. 1782, SARAH BURGE, 1765-1831, DAR lineage shows member, Mrs Maria Ross Moores Cullom, who was a daughter of William Henry Harrison Moores & Maria Louise Ross. William was son of Charles Moores & Mary Harrison. Charles was son of Reuben Harrison, who served as private in Capt Thomas Taylor's regiment. I understand that the Harrisons that died in Bowie County, are buried in cemetery in Harrison Chapel. Would like more info on this - if any has photos of monuments? Thanks, Sallie

Posted on: Bowie County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Bowie/504 Surname: Cox ------------------------- Tammy, thanks for your response. I had a beautiful old photo of Newton Cox and wife Fannie of Bowie County, that I wanted to find a home for. It was found in my ex-husband's belongings when he died. I found a relative in Virginia and send her the picture. I have a copy, if you want one. I since found out she was Newton's 2nd wife and was a Dalby before, but I am not sure if this was her maiden name or name of her first husband. He came from Tennessee. Elfriede (Eitel) Wilde
Do you know anything about Maggie Harper? All I know is that she was married do Richard Furnace Terral. He was born in 1870 to give you an idea of the time frame. The family knew her to be somewhat of a hell-raiser. I wish I could come up with a first name for the Autrey that was the principal of Wards Creek school in the middle 30s, but at the present I cannot. I have a cousin who might know. It may take a little while because she does not have e-mail,etc. If I have any luck will get back to you. Herchel McFadden
